Description

We see crowds waiting for the arrival of the Duke of Edinburgh on seating erected next to Holmes Sluice Gates at Colwick in blustery conditions. The Duke makes a speech and then inspects the flood gates on the River Trent and the neighbouring lock gate. He then boards the Trent River Board survey boat Cyclops for the journey up river to Nottingham. He is next seen arriving at Nottingham with a view of the Wilford Toll Bridge where he disembarks the boat. We then see crowds in Old Market Square, a marching military band and the arrival of the royal cars. He is finally seen entering the Council House.
