Description

Exterior shot of the Lygon Arms at Broadway in Worcestershire. Inside the hotel, Leslie Dunn talks to Miss Matthews who is the receptionist about working in a hotel on Christmas day. Followed by views of the place she would rather be which is Helford in Cornwall, where we see oysters being caught from a river. The next interviewee is a Northamptonshire police officer who will be patrolling the M1 motorway on Christmas day. He explains to Judith Jackson that his dream would be to be in Australia. We see tourist board type views of a typical Australian beach Christmas. Next Dunn talks to a telephone switchboard operator. Her dream would be to return to her home city of Belfast. This is followed by views of Belfast. Next a Judith Jackson talks to the transmission controller at Alpha Television in Aston where ATV Midlands is broadcast from. He too will be working on Christmas day. His choice would be to return to Canada. This is followed by views of snow in Canada (not shot by ATV) and views of a Father Christmas in a parade in Canada. Next Dunn talks to a Jamaican born nurse about her work. This is followed by more non-ATV footage of Jamaica. The final interviewee works for the RAF fire service. He is Scottish and would like to be in Edinburgh. The final section shows views of the Scottish capital including the castle.
