"Showing The World".
An exhibition of mining equipment held at Olympia.

"Geordie Comes To Town".
Elderly former miner Geordie Brown from Ashington in Northumberland visits London for the first time in sixty years.

"Heart of England".
A miners gala held at Coleorton Hall in Leicestershire the headquarters of the South Derbyshire and Leicestershire branch of the National Coal Board. We see a parade of floats leaving South Leicester colliery and passing through Coalville before arriving at Coleorton. In the grounds of the house we see gala events including a miners railway, a stage show called 'Heart of England' (with a cast of 500 interrupted by a rain shower) and an outdoor performance of Richard III by the Burton Shakespeare Society.
