Reg Harcourt report to camera from the police incident room in Chesterfield. We then see a reconstruction of events leading up to Barbara Mayo's death. We see a woman dressed in the same clothes being picked up by a passing car in the village of Kimberley in Nottinghamshire. The car (a Morris 1000 traveller) is seen heading north on the M1 motorway before leaving at junction 29 and travelling towards Clay Cross where the reconstruction ends in a lane. Reg Harcourt interviews Detective Chief Superintendent Charles Palmer about the unsolved case.
