Description

Greg Barnes piece to camera in the deserted and demolished village of Leycett including view of the spoil heap left from the disused colliery. He then goes to the local school where he interviews the headteacher Ken Platt and his wife. We see the children leaving Woodlands School for the final time.

Leycett was a mining village that was abandoned when the pit closed in the late 1950s. When ATV Today visited the village the only building still standing was the school.
