Peter Green piece to camera on canal boat and then interview with Bob Hastwell about the canal trips he and his partners run on the canals in Birmingham. Peter then takes a journey on a boat on the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal with the men travelling from Spaghetti Junction to Gas Street Basin. During the journey they pass through a lock and also pass a group of Perry Common teenagers on a school trip by boat to Salford Bridge. Peter comments on the design of a Horsley Ironworks bridge along the route and ends his report with another piece to camera and a visit to the Longboat pub in Birmingham city centre.
