Gwyn Richards talks to Johnnie Johnson standing outside his farmhouse near to Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. Johnson talks about his early life in the area, his background in civil engineering (which he now returning to) and his early days in the RAF. He talks about the very little action he saw during the actual Battle of Britain (he first shot an enemy aircraft down the following year). His finest days he remembers as 1943 when he was leading a Canadian squadron.
