The reel has sporadic commentary throughout. We begin with activities at Beaudesert scout camp on Cannock Chase in Staffordshire where we see the camp entrance and the warden's house (Crawford House), views of the campsite in woods and a group of scouts lifting a heavy log. We then see views of Sedgley Windmill (Ruiton Windmill) being inspected by a group of council officials following repair work. This is followed by a scouts outing by coach to Wales for a hiking expedition around Snowdon. We then see a St George's Day parade of scouts in Wolverhampton followed by a similar civic Sunday procession to Darlington Street Methodist Church followed by a sports event in a park including sack and wheelbarrow races for the boys.
The next section (in b/w) shows a county conference of the local scout organisations held in a hall with several discussion groups and a visit by scouting official Fred Hurll. There is also a demonstration of the cub scout promise. We return to colour for another St George's Day parade from the car-park of the Beatties store in Wolverhampton to Darlington Street Methodist church again. The band of the Staffordshire Yeomanry also take part.
The next sequence shows a canal trip (a title caption for Autumn Cruise at the beginning of the reel probably refers to this section). We see a group playing cards on a canal boat (another man strums a guitar). There are views on the Shropshire Union canal and Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal including Chillington cutting near Brewood and a stretch to Aldersley junction passing Bushbury Hill. We then see another St George's Day parade of scouts which ends with them being dismissed in the playground of Woodfield Avenue School in Wolverhampton. This is followed by a St George's Day service for catholic scouts and guides (dated May 1961) at St Mary and St John's on Snow Hill in Wolverhampton. We then see a jubilee scout fete in Beaudesert Park in June 1962 opened by the Marquis and Marchioness of Anglesey in front of a large crowd of scouts and guides. After a pipe band performance from a group from Hednesford and Heathtown we see scouts in fancy dress and the clean up operation after the event. Finally we see a group of scouts having their kit inspected on camp by their leader.
