Description

We open with a series of extracts from Christmas plays held at the school. Different classes perform a 'winter wonderland' show followed by a nativity, Peter Rabbit from class 3 children and finally a performance of the operetta Alicia. We then see an outing in which a group of children travel on the canal boat Ernest Thomas along the Shropshire Union canal. We see them crossing the A5 on the Stretton aqueduct and using a lock at Wheaton Aston in Staffordshire. We also see workers carrying out repairs to the lock gates and the boat continuing its journey through the Chillington cutting with Cannock Chase seen in the distance. The next section shows the school fair which included a miniature railway and various stalls. We then see an outing by coach to Blakesley Hall at Yardley. We see the children travelling by coach, standing outside looking at the Tudor house and some dark sequences inside. Another outing to Boscobel House in Shropshire is also shown where the children also look at the ruins of White Ladies Priory. Next we see sports day races followed by an outing to Lichfield Cathedral where see the children walking in the grounds. We then see them at Alton Towers riding on a roundabout and rowing on the boating lake. Finally there is a display of school work.
