Description

Opening section shows a comedy football match in the village of Bishopstone played by teams wearing costumes. In the village of Fownhope we see a parade of men carrying flower garlands. We briefly see a tape being cut to open a building and people are seen parading into church.

Next at Peterchurch, in the only black and white sequence, we see men and boys battling over a brook, swinging on ropes and in a tug-of-war. Next at Ashperton we see a school sports event including high jump competition. At Withington there is a fete with a skittles stall followed by shots of a football match. We then see a sign for Pontrilas Carnival followed by a parade of costumed children, floats and marching bands. We then see a carnival queen, a comedy tumbling act and female dancers with a maypole.

Next at Wormbridge we see a short sequence of girls dancing in the garden of a large house (Whitfield?). In Hereford we see a carnival parade including marching bands and a minstrel band. This is followed by a sequence on Castle Green where we see a children dancing in large groups and a boys' PT demonstration including vaulting and finally cricket and football matches.
