Description

The film begins with a carnical parade through the streets of Smallthorne. Included in the prade are decorated floats (flatbed trucks) as well as marching dance troupe and scout drumming band. This is followed by shots from inside the Methodist church where carnival queens enter with their attendants. The queens are crowned and leave and are subsequently seen in a field where a fete is held. Attractions at the fete are a fancy dress competition (one category is won by 'Dressed to Kill', a boy coverd in empty cigarette packets), bring and buy sale, candy floss stall, pony rides and a synchronised dance routine performed by young girls.
