Description

We open with views of the family boarding a third class railway carriage and smiling for the camera. Brief shot of steam hauled train passing camera. We then cut to views taken on board a ferry travelling to the Isle of Wight. Next we see views of the beach at Sandown with the Teneriffe Hotel in the background. High angle views from the cliff top looking down at the beach and pier are followed by views on the beach with people playing on the sand and paddling in the sea. The next section shows a visit to Southampton. On board the ferry travelling from the Isle of Wight we see deck hands hauling ropes and views of the coastline and docks (including a distant view of the liner Bremen). In Southampton dock we see the Cunard White Star liner Homeric and people boarding to have a look around on the deck. Brief shots of men paddling canoes follows. Back on the Isle of Wight the group visit St Mildred's Church in Whippingham and then Osborne House at North Cowes where there are views of the exterior and also shots of the grounds from inside the house. Next at Carisbrooke Castle we see views of the grounds and finally a walk to the Royal Standard pub.
