In August 1977 the National Front targeted Ladywood in Birmingham during a by-election campaign (Library pictures of the clashes at Ladywood have been removed from here). Since then they have turned their attention to getting their right wing and racist political literature into local schools. Attempting to combat this are the Socialist Worker Party but these extreme views from both sides of the political spectrum are considered to be harmful to children. We see pupils arriving at Hodge Hill School and views of streets in the Saltley area of Birmingham. There are interviews with a National Front spokesman and a woman from the SWP as well as a teacher and another political commentator.
