Description

Opening shots show Morris cars being loaded on a ship for export which is followed by brief view inside unidentified car, bus and lorry factories. We then see the exterior of the Rubery Owen works at Darlaston. Inside the factory we see production lines with workers making wheel rims and wheel centres which are then joined together. This is followed by the manufacture of vehicle fuel tanks using metal presses which are then paint sprayed. Axle cases follow as do shots of nuts and bolts being produced and finally the hot pressing of steel blanks to form chassis side members for commercial vehicles. We then see Rubery Owen workers testing components and lorries leaving the factory loaded with complete components. The film ends with more views in vehicle factories including brief views inside the Jaguar plant at Coventry, Austin at Longbridge and the exterior of the Rootes factory in Coventry with Sunbeam-Talbot cars being driven away.
