Description

The film begins with a steam train approaching at Birmingham Snow Hill railway station followed by a 'portrait' of a driver on a locomotive's footplate. A train is then seen pulling out of the station. A brief shot of passengers inside a train carriage and then at tables in a steamer on the Thames follows. A record of races at the regatta at Henley on Thames is next with intertitles indicating races: Oriel, Oxford v Clare, Cambridge; Shrewsbury v Lady Margaret; and London v First Trinity. We also see a single sculls race between Herbert Buhtz v Stephens. Next we see views of the River Thames shot from a Salter Brothers steamer and a shot of passengers disembarking. This is followed by more views of the Thames in London including Lambeth Palace and bridge and the Houses of Parliament and sailing activity at the mouth of the Thames. The film ends with views of yachts at Burnham-on-Crouch.
