Description

We open with views of Lightmoor including a spoil tip and abandoned buildings. We then see a steam-hauled coal train passing through Lightmoor Halt station and views of the wooden platform and small station building. View of cottages on Park Lane at Madeley. Shots of the exterior of Madeley Court in a poor condition followed by views of farm buildings and a point of view shot taken from a car driving along the main street of Madeley. We then see an establishing shot of Madeley Colliery with shots of the pit tubs at the surface and the pit wheels followed by a view of neighbouring farm land. At Hem Mill we see a pond and a spoil tip. Next in Dawley we have another point of view shot driving through the town. We then see views of new and old housing in Dawley including a new estate next to the parish church. The next section is captioned 'The Rock, Mannerley Lane estate' and shows distant views of another housing estate. We then see rural views including a lane and farmer with horse in field in the Brockton area. Next at Coalport we see views of buildings (some part demolished) and the River Severn. A railway track bed is also visible and we then see the Coalport Memorial footbridge and the Freebridge at nearby Jackfield. We then cut to Ironbridge and see the famous bridge and views of the Coalport Road followed by more buildings in poor condition (some suffering from subsidence). Another point of view from a moving car follows. We then see cottages on Lincoln Hill, views of Buildwas power station, a black and white building at Coalbrookdale and finally a brief view of St Michael's church at Madeley.
