The opening section shows a meet of the Pytchley Hunt at Brampton in Northamptonshire in 1958 (a camera fault causes some jerky movement on playback). We see the members of the hunt on horseback on a lane and accepting glasses of sherry from a woman holding a tray. We then see a group of children playing with a small wheeled cart. The next section shows crowds at a well attended point-to-point horse race meeting organised by the Pytchley (at Guilsborough?) on 18 April 1959. Mrs Cross is competing in the ladies' race and we see the riders in the enclosure followed by the start of the race and sequences showing horses and riders over jumps (including a fall). After the race we see Mrs Cross and another woman holding their saddles and posing for the camera. The prize giving follows and then we see Mrs Cross and others eating a picnic from the back of the family car. Pytchley hunt leader Stanley Barker is also present. We then cut to another presentation (dated as 1960) in which Stanley Barker is given a book and makes a speech (it is likely to be the event when Barker retired as the Pychley's Huntsman).
