The film includes some descriptive inter-titles. We open with views of Youlgreave village (the buildings are decorated with bunting) and shots of All Saints Church. This is followed by people looking at wells decorated for the annual well dressing. We then see views along Lathkill Dale (and the Lathkill river) followed by Middleton Dale where we see walkers and tourists. In the village of Middleton (in b/w) we see villagers on the street (including a boy on a tricycle) and people filling buckets from the village well. We then return to Youlgreave for views from the top of the church tower and more scenes showing villagers on the street and a group of men sitting drinking outside a pub (severe damage to the film in this section). This is followed by a man singing in a field (intertitle informs us that he is singing "My pretty maid would you marry me".) This is followed by another man singing "I'm forever blowing bubbles". The next sequence is from a professional newsreel and shows Coronation Day events at Westminster Abbey. We then return to Derbyshire and see a bonfire held in Youlgreave to mark the Coronation. This is followed by "An evening study of Alport and Robin Hood's Stride" where we see views of the village of Alport and the nearby tor. The film ends with scenes of the 1937 Remembrance Day parade in Youlgreave to the church.

The inter-titles use the alternate spelling of the village name: 'Youlgrave'.
