The film begins with shots of the children of Ward's Bridge secondary school in their house colours marching with flags at the start of their annual sports day. We then see running races and javelin, high jump, shot put, discus, hurdling and pole vault. Some of the winners are presented with with awards by the British sprinter Maureen Tranter. The winners hold up their certificates to the camera.
