The film looks at the work of Andrea Costello who runs a refuge in Derby called 'Young at Risk'. We also meet Andrea's mother, Doreen who helps with the running and the centre's manager, Mick Walsh. Several young people are featured and they tell their stories about becoming homeless, unemployment, family break-ups and self harm. Mick Walsh explains the 'four week rule' which means that homeless people are regularly forced to leave a town. We also follow when member of the house who is interested in voluntary work with Child Concern in Derby who look after children.
