We see veterans of the 384th Bombardment Group of the United States 8th Air Force revisiting the village of Grafton Underwood where they were stationed during the Second World War. The veterans are also seen at a dance held at the Holiday Inn hotel in Leicester and visiting RAF Duxford in Cambridgeshire. Throughout the film there are interviews with the veterans and also with people who lived in Grafton Underwood during the war or experienced first hand the American deployment to Britain during those years. There is extensive use of archive film showing American bombers in action.
