Description

The opening section shows shop fronts inside the Telford shopping centre including Stead & Simpson, Trueform, Bambers, Frisbys Shoes, Fashions by Glarry’s, Boots and two cafes. We then briefly see inside the Carrefour supermarket showing a row of checkouts. This is followed by exterior views of the Telford Centre and its car-park. We then cut to earlier material which shows the site under construction before cutting back to the interior of Carrefour where fittings are being installed. Views of racks of clothing at the completed Carrefour follow. More shots of the pedestrian walkways and shop fronts of the Telford Centre are next showing Halfords, MEB (Midland Electricity Board) with electrical goods and F. Hinds (jewellers). Back to the official opening of Carrefour we see guests arriving and speeches being made. A drinks party follows before we see Kenny Ball with his Jazzmen performing from a stage set up in a marquee. Trade stands including a police careers display and Dulux paints stand with Old English Sheepdog are also visible. A military band is then seen on the stage. The reel ends with people waiting at the bus station and views of a site awaiting development.
