We see Don Rowe at Hereward College taking part in lessons and sport; shopping for heavy metal records in Coventry city centre with a friend in a wheelchair; and walking with his father close to his home at Bradeley in Stoke on Trent. Don's parents are interviewed as are Ursula Willock, Senior Careers Officer for Staffordshire County Council; A. G. McAllister, Principal of Hereward College; and John Carrier, Student Counsellor at the college. Don's poems are read by an actor however he does provide a commentary to parts of the film about his experiences living with cerebral palsy, people's attitudes to disability, his college life and his passion for heavy metal. We also see students at the residential college using computers and swimming.
