The film is a mixes 'fly-on-the wall' techniques to show the activities of an agricultural show with interviews with several unnamed participating farmers and livestock breeders.
Some shots towards the end of the film are cut to music.
We see preparations for the show at Newark Showground - stalls being constructed; a farmer preparing cattle for showing; a group of children travelling to the show by bus; the army erecting a display.
Next at the show itself - judging of cattle; children looking at farm animals; goats being judged; stalls; children enjoying a slide and helter-skelter; a missing child; the Royal Marines free fall parachute team in action and members drinking in a bar.
Finally we see the stalls being dismantled at the end of the show.
