Description

We see Moira Roberts leaving her home by car and then walking through the Raleigh factory in Nottingham. Her voice over throughout the film describes her work as Personnel Manager for Sturmey Archer which is part of Raleigh Industries. We see her attending meetings including a disciplinary hearing with union official Fred Mitchell also present and in her office talking on the phone or answering letters. She describes her family and academic background which is illustrated with family photographs and we also see her leisure time. Outside the office we see Moira playing squash (and driving to the squash centre in her Reliant Scimitar) and sailing on Rutland Water with her husband. Her domestic life is shown with views of her shopping in a supermarket, cooking at home and sitting down with friends for a dinner party.
