"VE Day 1945 - Here's to the Peace". We see a man opening a bottle of Champagne outside and pouring it into glasses (pre-war Champagne according to the inter-titles). A group of people hold up their glasses for the camera. We then cut to the Green in Solihull where country dancing is taking place. Later we see people congregating around a lit bonfire.
The next section shows a visit by Winston Churchill to Solihull on 25 June 1945 as part of his General Election tour of Warwickshire. We see a large crowd welcoming Churchill's car. There are distant shots of him addressing the crowd but he is hard to see.
Next we have a holiday to Sidmouth in Devon in September 1945. We see views of the headland, the family walking towards the camera, sitting outside the Riviera Hotel and bathing in the sea (some sections are in colour).
We continue with showjumping at the Inkberrow Horse Show. Young riders on ponies also take part in an event at the show in Worcestershire.
The final section shows a parade of veteran and vintage vehicles filmed at Meriden on 21 September 1946. The event was held to mark fifty years of motoring.
