Description

We see a mayor and soldiers in uniform outside a church and various shots of a parade through Wednesbury featuring members of the armed forces, St John's Ambulance Brigade, Red Cross, scouts and guides and a horse-drawn fire engine. A mayor makes a speech and a large crowd looks on (some holding Union flags).

Notes

The film maker is unknown. Kodak film stock dated 1942. A hand written note which came with the film gives locations as 'Oakswell' and the 'top of Spring Head'. It names Charles Jackson and Councillors as being present and also Alfred Owen (Rubery Owen were an engineering company based at Darlaston).
