Introduction to the traffic problem in Stourbridge, with a voice over and shots of the town centre.
The film then looks at the plans drawn up to resolve the problem. The camera takes us through the proposed route of the new ring road.
We then see construction of the road beginning to take place.The film follows the construction of the different areas of the road, the subway, the bridge, the approach to the ring road etc. We see the digging of the subway, the laying down of cables, drainage and reinforcing walls.
The film then takes us to the demoliton of buildings and houses to make way for the new road as well as the construction of a bridge. Then the tarmacing of the road and the painting of the road makings.
Once consturction is complete there is an official opening ceremony in the subway, attended by local dignatries. The film ends with the camera in a car being driven on the new ring road.
