We see a detailed model of how Solihull will look after the planned developments. The model is shown from several angles, demonstrating carparks and many new buildings. We then see footage of how Solihull presently looks. We see a close up of the sign for 'Mill Lane' and then look down the street to see cars and passersby. We then cut to see 'Drury Lane' and see the traffic as it goes by.

Extensive redevelopment of Solihull took place during the 1960s. The peak of house building took place during the 1950s and 1960s and then between 1960 and 1980, 750 homes were built per year.
During the redevelopment the Chelmsley Wood council estate was built and many Victorian terrace streets were demolished, along with the Congregational Church. The central shopping area was built in the 1960s.
Due to its growth Solihull was promoted from a Municipal Borough to a Country Borough in 1964, an honour which was bestowed by the Queen.
