Description

The film begins with a shot of a river followed by a policeman directing traffic at the mill end of Bridge Street in Belper. This is followed by a shot along Bridge Street including The George pub (known as the George and Dragon in 2016). We then see a procession of people led by a clergyman in surplice and cassock followed by choir boys, women and girls and then men and boys. They turn off Chesterfield Road in Belper on to Church Lane and then enter the grounds of Saint Peter's Church.

We then see a much longer but similar procession ascending a hill and then entering the church grounds from the Green Lane end of Church Lane.

Two men then approach the camera along Campbell Street with the Railway Hotel (on King Street) behind them.

The film ends with a parade of scouts led by a marchinf band. They march out of King Street on then along Bridge Street. The parade includes scouts and cubs.
