We see children arriving at John Wilmott grammar school in Sutton Coldfield and chatting in groups outside. A commentary talks about children and their curiosity about sex. We then see a lecture given by Mr W. A. Simpson who has researched the subject. Standing in front of charts he gives the findings of his research which concludes that children want to ask more questions about sex than they feel they are able to. He has also compared the 'curiosity' of rural girls against those living in cities. The next section is a series of vox pops with mothers about sex education and whether it should be provided in the home or school. We then see children in a school laboratory which leads into interviews with two teachers. The first suggests that sex education should begin in the home and the second, who is the head of a boys' school, is concerned about teachers' confusion. We then see a group of children in a school gym. The final interview is with Stella Hunt who is a moral welfare officer who discusses teenage pregnancy and venereal disease. Ms Hunt also talks to 'Mary', who is interviewed anonymously about her own experiences. The final section are audio only vox pops with young people about sex education.
