The first section shows (with inter-titles) a wedding taking place on Easter Monday 13 April 1936 between George Horner and Eva Holding at the Catholic Church of Our Blessed Lady and St Thomas of Hereford at Ilkeston in Derbyshire. We see the arrival of the guests, bridegroom, bridesmaids and finally the bride by car. We then see the newly married couple leaving church as confetti is scattered and then guests posing for the camera in a large group. The next section shows two boys building a snowman in a garden and children scraping snow from an icy street (probably also in Ilkeston). We then cut to a race course and see several races over jumps and two boys eating ice creams mingling with the race-goers. Next we see another newly married couple leaving a church as confetti is thrown and posing next to their wedding cake (a dark sequence). We then see children playing on a see-saw, making sandcastles on a beach (small Union flag fluttering on sand castle) and then on a small beach roundabout. We then see children swimming in the sea (a boy wears a rubber ring), a woman sitting on a deck chair outside a caravan and two boys piloting a small motorboat. "Speeding along to the coast". A train is seen pulling into a station and brief view from carriage window. We then see scenes from a holiday to Clacton on Sea in Essex (including inter-titles). We see a couple strolling along the promenade, views of the resort including the pier and Blue Lagoon, children watching a beach Punch and Judy show, swimming and diving in a lido and a speedboat ride. We then see sporting events for adults at a gala day held at Grooms Orphanage (also in Clacton), a view of a shrimp boat at sea and adults paddling and splashing in the sea.
