Description

We see establishing shots of Stratford upon Avon including the river bridge, Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, Shakespeare's birthplace on Henley Street, Falcon Hotel and views of the River Avon. We then follow two touring cyclists who visit Mary Arden's cottage and Anne Hathaway's cottage at nearby Shottery. We then cut to views of their bicycle chains (commentary makes an analogy between historic links and chain links) before we see views of Coventry Cathedral and the exterior of the Renold & Coventry Chain Ltd factory in Coventry. This is followed by a stop motion animation showing the individual components of a bicycle chain. We then see views of machine assembly of bicycle chains and a woman working in the factory on a load test and visual inspection.
