Tom Scott works at the Aveling-Barford engineering factory in Grantham. We see him at work on the shop floor, visiting his local Conservative Club, visiting the empty ground of Grantham football club and working as a local councillor meeting constituents in their own homes.

We also see shots of Grantham town centre, the old parish church, the statue of Isaac Newton and workers leaving the Aveling-Barford factory.
