Description

[Starts theme music only without images]. Brief view from a ferry, cars boarding a ferry at Southampton. Brief shot passengers boarding flight at Birmingham Airport. Vox pops in Solihull and at Birmingham Airport about the pros and cons of holidays abroad. The people who are not in favour complain about greasy food and language problems. Shots of foreign holiday resorts with a commentary by Mike Reinhold (likely to be from tourist board films and not shot by ATV). We see beaches, lakes and mountains followed by views of Paris, Venice and Copenhagen. The next insert shows a woman leafing through a Spanish holiday brochure and talking to a travel agent. The next insert again shows a woman talking to a travel agent but then cuts to a bank where we see Spanish currency being counted out. Next we see another compilation of destinations (again sourced from promotional films). The final insert previews destinations that will make up the series: We see a French seaside resort, views of Rome and Mount Vesuvius and shots of Austria, windmills of Holland, views of Denmark and Yugoslavia and finally Tunisia.
