Description

We are introduced to the Worksaver, a battery controlled vehicle that comes in four forms: pallet truck, fork lift, low lift and tractor unit. The technical details of the electric motor and gearing system are described by the commentator as we see details of the components in cut-away form. We then see an operator demonstrating its ease of use in pedestrian operated form (it can be used by unskilled labour). We see the low lift version in use at the University Grinding Wheel Company of Stafford followed by the pallet truck version used by Humber Ltd to provide components for the Rootes car assembly line. The fork lift truck Worksaver is shown being used to load a lorry at the Ever Ready battery factory (probably Wolverhampton) and finally we see the tractor unit being used to tow a trailer along a road in Birmingham moving materials from Tufnol Ltd to George Ellison Ltd. The final section shows a Worksaver carrying lighting equipment used in the making of its own promotional film.
