Programme introduced by Zia Mohyeddin. The first item is a film report about the Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake. Paula Ahlulwalia visits an exhibition of his work at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and then looks at some of his clothes in one of his boutiques on Sloan Street in the city. Paula interviews Miyake about his work and years spent in Paris and New York. There are library shots of Paris and hippies in New York’s Central Park, fashion photographs showing his designs and views inside the V & A exhibition. Back in the studio Moyheddin introduces a studio performance by the Indian sarangi player Sabri Khan who is accompanied by his son Ghulam Sarwar. Next on film Paula Ahulwalia interviews the Australian Aboriginal story teller Maureen Watson about her culture. The programme ends with a clip from next week’s edition which looks at the island of St Vincent.
