Programme introduced by Zia Mohyeddin. The first item is Mita Hackett studio interview with the South African musical group Shikisha. The female three piece sing and dance in a Zulu inspired style. They talk to Mita about their influences and their decision to work alone after several years of backing other musicians. After the interview we see a performance from the women.
Next on film Hilary Minster visits London for a report about the Asian Theatre Co-op. We see an extract from the play Vigilantes being performed by Rita Wolf and Shelly King at the Arts Theatre. Minster then talks to the play's writer, Farrukh Dhondy, about his inspirations and the current Asian theatre scene.
Back in the studio there is a performance from three Turkish musicians: Emin Aldemir; Erol Gocen; and Huseyin Turkmenler. The programme ends with another song from Shikisha under the final credits.
