Description

Programme presented in the studio by Zia Mohyeddin. The first item is a Peter Emina studio interview with the South African born trumpeter Hugh Masekela. An extract is shown from a music video from Masekela but he does not perform on the programme.

This is followed by a review by Mita Hackett of the new video release Ashray. This is illustrated with stills and a clip from the film.

Next in the studio Hilary Minster talks to a group of young people from Nottingham who are members of the Aswad Matsemela group who have recently visited Jamaica on an exchange programme. Stills are shown during the interview with group members Patricia Berry, Leslie Davis, Shirley Quashie and Tony Graham.

Finally in the studio there is a classical music performance from Edmund Reid and Greta Barrow.
