Programme presented in the studio by Zia Mohyeddin. The first item is a studio interview in which Paula Ahluwalia talks to the author Tariq Ali about his new book 'The Nehrus and the Gandhis' which is a history of recent Indian politics. The interview includes some recent library pictures of Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the December 1984 chemical leak at Bhopal.

The second item is a studio performance by the Birmingham reggae pop group The Equators who have a new single called 'Dreaming'.

Finally in the studio Peter Emina interviews Beverley Naper-Barrett who is head of music for the commercial radio station for Coventry and Warwickshire 'Mercia Sound'. She talks about her role and local radio music policy.
