Programme is presented in studio by Zia Mohyeddin who introduces a film report by Paula Ahluwalia about Link House in Birmingham which is a refuge for Asian women whose arranged marriages have broken down.
Paula interviews several women who have been helped by Link House and also speaks to project leaders Shashi Joshi and Balbinder Kaur, Chaudry Lateef of the Central Mosque Committee and police inspector Brian Ross.
The cultural issues surrounding arranged marriages are discussed as well as the unique situation of British Asians who are attempting to break with long standing family traditions.
