Description

Programme introduced by Zia Mohyeddin. The first item is a spoof (April Fool) report from Peter Emina looking at the health benefits of rose petals. Emina interviews Dr Ernest Cashmore and then outside the Hawthorns ground talks to West Bromwich Albion footballer Cyrille Regis about claims that players rub rose petals on their thighs. Emina continues his 'investigation' by talking to the table tennis player Desmond Douglas during a practice at Aston University and the Birmingham based dance group Atmozphier who are seen dancing in a club.

Next in the studio Paula Ahluwalia talks about recent failures in getting racist National Front literature banned through the courts. She talks to Paul Gordon of the Runnymede Trust and Dan Jones of Tower Hamlets Trades Council who was angered by literature sold in London and referred NF publications to the director of public prosecutions without success.

The final item is a film report in which Vera Gilbert visits the Coventry home of Dr Chanan Chan who is a keen collector of coins, manuscripts and textiles from the Punjab. Dr Chan shows Vera many of his rare and precious Sikh artefacts.
