Programme introduced by Zia Mohyeddin. The first item looks at the increasing popularity of marriage bureaus amongst the Asian community. In the studio Peter Emina talks to Ramesh Bhargava of the Suman bureau that recently opened a branch in Birmingham and Gurbaksh Rai Hunjan of the Asian Marriage Bureau. They discuss the needs of both people looking for partners and the particular family issues in arranged marriages.
Next in the studio Ezeke and his Aqua Vita Band perform their new song Disco Paradise.
The following report from Vera Gilbert looks at the use of computers at Gateway College in Leicester. The item opens with a clip from the feature film 'War Games' which revolves around computers. At the sixth form college we see students using BBC computers. Vera talks to pupils who have created a program in Basic to computerise the admin process at the college and store information on a floppy disc. Interview with headmaster Mr Bailey. Interview with student Jasvinder Singh Sian who has written a computer game called Gobble de Spook which has been picked up by a software company. We see Jasvinder playing his pac-man like game on a Lynx computer. Interview with Mr Gill, the head of science about a project using computer controls for lighting in the college drama production and views of the system in operation.
Finally in the studio Peter Emina asks questions in the second part of a Here and Now general knowledge quiz that includes clips from Jewel in the Crown and a Stevie Wonder concert.
