Hilary Minster interviews Zubair Khan about the marriage which has been arranged by his father. He talks about his views on arranged marriages and his coming to Britain aged 12 in 1971. Minster also talks to his father and the bride's father about the arrangements and the coming together of the two families. He talks to Saeeda through an interpreter as she has only recently arrived in Britain. An Islamic priest (a Maulvi) visits the home to talk to both parties and provide a blessing. We see Zubair leaving home with his family to drive to the ceremony, the couple meeting a priest to repeat their marriage vows, the arrival at the venue and scenes inside showing the wedding banquet, gifts and a short speech from Zubair.
