We see farm workers gathering in the hay in a field at Walton in Warwickshire. Firstly they collect the cut grass and load it onto a horse drawn cart. A horse drawn hay rake is also used. Two boys help with gathering the hay into piles. The full hay cart is then transferred onto a very large hay stack. One man stands on the cart and throws the hay to workers standing on the hay stack.
