Description

We open with a view of Brayford Pool in Lincoln. This is followed by a shot of the High Street including the railway level crossing gates closing, a steam hauled freight train passing and then briefly a diesel heading towards Lincoln railway station. Further shots of the High Street follow with Lincoln Cathedral visible in the distance followed by Steep Hill and then shots taken closer to the cathedral. We then see traffic passing over Pelham Bridge. We then see another view of Lincoln railway station with a 'Deltic' diesel locomotive arriving. We then see roads close to the cathedral including traffic passing through Priory Gate. This is followed by a parade led by a marching band followed by groups of scouts. We then see views of Newport Arch and traffic passing with a cut to views of the aftermath of an accident in 1964 when the arch was hit by a lorry. We conclude with views of Lincoln Castle and the grounds and views of the Cathedral from the castle.
