We see views of closed buildings along the A6 at Matlock Bath (including the Fountain restaurant and Petrifying Well Museum). This is followed by scenes of buildings being demolished as workmen move along the line of the road. One sequence shows the Devonshire Café coming down scattering rubble across the road. We also see the GPO removing a telephone box and views of the cleared area as work begins to realign the road and construct a new pavement.
