£80 is earmarked for patients in Sandwell and Dudley compared to nearly £300 in some London boroughs. William Bull of Erdington is waiting six years for a hip replacement. Helen Smith of Cradley Heath lost her baby in Dudley hospital and blames a lack of staff. Paul Coffey in Wolverhampton was lucky to have a heart transplant within three weeks. Pat Summer of Kings Heath has three children of her own and adopted three others and estimates that £25,000 of NHS money was spent in giving her a seventh.
