Description

The documentary uses clips from the 1968 Doe Lea film intercut with new interviews with local people about how their community has changed. A caption at the starts indicates that there were almost 300 families in the village in 1968 but in 1986 there were only 30. Local people are interviewed in the community centre and there are also comments from the Labour MP for Bolsover, Dennis Skinner who also appeared in the 1968 film. The 1984/85 miners strike is also discussed and there are unfavourable comments about the Nottinghamshire miners' role in the strike. The newly shot material includes tracking shots past houses and views of a site where Derbyshire County Council are planning to dump waste.
