"Ploughing match - Ivington October, 1953". This is filmed in b/w and we see farmers ploughing a field with tractors as a small crowd looks on. Later we see similar scenes with farmers using pairs of shire horses. We then cut to colour (no inter-title) and see views of a similar event taken place in 1954 at Cholstrey. There are also shots of a mechanical hedge cutter being demonstrated, ploughing using both tractors and shire horses, a beer tent, a display of vegetables and hedging by hand.
